This is my final mix... I have about 16 hours into it. It was very fun mixing this project. May the best mix win...

Thumbs up Re: Bearing Teeth Entry Neckbone Studios

I like this although people are wanting more snare so far. The vocals are a bit up in the mix for my liking but not killing it. Definately one of the better mixes so far but I am sure of the snare isn't cutting it in spots as in my mix and you will hear about it. The bass sounds nice! I really like this mix! some chewy yet tasteful mids... GMTA !! Your guitars are bit higher in the mix than mine but mine are a bit more biting. Sounds alot like my mix, therefore I love it! [edit] Actually, After listening to mine I feel as I have been defeated. Great Mix, May the best mix win. The drums are definately there without burying anything but very present, Awesome mix!! Feel free to critique mine also...http://forum.recordingreview.com/f11...e-sound-24701/

Thanks for the opinion Dave, I will definitely take it into consideration...
I put the vox on top just a hair right before I uploaded it, its a very fine line and basically a preference to the engineer. As for the snare it is very blended into the mix and it might need to be bumped up a DB or so. Ty again for listening.

No, after listening closely, I think this mix is spot on. Maybe tuck the Vox but the snare is fine and sounds natural when a bit inconsistant.

I listened to it this morning with fresh ears again lol... I'm really happy with it.
The only thing I would change is bring down the vox maybe 1 DB like I said earlier it was a last minute move... I should of left it alone
Thanks Again Dave.

It's very very ambient in a way that I'm not digging. I'd recommend being very careful with the early reflections on the reverbs you are using. A little tail can be a good thing, but the early reflections can "cheapen" the sound of in a hurry.

Usually, if I spent 16 hours on a mix, it means I need to take a day off and start all over and do a 15 minute mix. My ears get fried and my perspective becomes jello.

The ambiance thing from before seems to be something the ear gets used to quickly. In fact, it was such a drastic adaptation that I'm not really hearing it so much later on into the tune....except on those lead guitars.

Overall it was a solid mix. I suspect you soaked the lead guitars in something that brought out the "boxy reverb" quality and that's what hammered you early on.

LOL there is not a lot of verb on anything in this mix, there is one guitar room bus To fatten it up with no overhang on the verb either, its very tight. Also there is a Modern Analoger on the guitar bus itself .

If ya think I mixed this in 16 hours straight your crazy. I have about 16 hours over a 4 day period. I noticed a lot of other mixes are very loose sounding on here and some are very dull... Ty for your opinion, may the best mix win.
