And a special third one for all you lucky people

This is an instrumental song.

All of the songs are recorded and processed/mixed in pretty much the same way, so comments on them all are welcome.

Thanks all.

I thought I heard a difference in the second cut, but its hard to tell. If you like the sound compressed, thats whats important.

I don't necesserily like the sound compressed, I just like it to sound big. I'm sure there are much better ways to achieve this than my methods? I'm all ears...

We have our first gig after our year off next month. I want to try and get a 4 or 5 track demo CD mixed for then...All the songs are already recorded, and more or less mixed. I figure using the advice from these 3 I should be able to mix the other 2 better!

Much better in the 2nd mix. Good mix...Band 's performance is tight and focused.

Good luck on your live shows.

Sounds much better. I can hear each intrument distinctly and your vocals have better presence. Cool rock songs.

just so you know, 'The Unwanted' are a Winnipeg punk band from the early 80's that have recently reformed... not sure if the name is ©, but i wouldn't want these angry punks coming after me...

Yeah, I am aware of them. Didn't know they had re-formed though...If we ever make it big we'll have to change the name (not holding my breath ).

Besides, angry punks vs my girlfriend (our singer)? They stand no chance.

It's recommended to post individual songs in individual threads to get maximum attention to each song.

I'm listening to the second mix "Infinite Possibility".

The drums are clearly MIDI because of the lack of variations. The drums are lacking any hint of "balls" or "punch". They don't impact like I'd want them, especially the snare. Some of that may be the fact that it's one single velocity throughout the song.

The vocals sound good.

The overall song feels very undynamic to me. Everything is constant. The guitars are constant. The organ is constant. The bass is constant. Even the drums are about as constant as they could be. I'd definitely want to add dynamic elements of some kind to get things moving on a dynamic level.

While the mix sound fine, it just feels very "tame" to my ears. There was no attempt to knock my head off or (insert over the top analogy here).

Brandon
