Untitled (24 July 2012) - Epic/Movie Metal
Another in my style, with this one being much more "movie/game" oriented, but still rocks quite nicely.
Really put some time into learning and working on my drum sounds and EQ, and overall mixing and EQ. Don't have a name for this one - feel free to offer a suggestion.

Like the vibe man! To me it sounds like your bass guitar and electric guitars are fighting for the space. If it was me I would start by cutting out the low end junk in the guitars. The bass sounds pretty solid by itself, but in the guitar break you can really here lots of mud in those tracks. That will help out the mix a ton.

Yep, the lows are a bit too much, was waiting to see if somebody else also said the same thing. Will make changes to the final mix! Thanks for the comments!

Re: Untitled (24 July 2012) - Epic/Movie Metal
Here's my thoughts while listening, I'm listening on KRK Rokit 5s.
The kick could use a little more oomph, maybe just a volume boost would be the fix.
The cymbals are a little outfront, almost stepping on the guitars, I'm sure if EQ would be want you want as much as just turning them down just a bit. All the extra high end makes the mix feel more brittle than it really is.
The piano sounds pretty but when all the other instruments come back in it seems to be buried, I'd like to hear it come out more!
I like the guitar solo stuff around 3:20, this section feels the most well-balanced to me.
Good job overall! It just needs a bit of tweaking to get to the next level, it's very good already!

Re: Untitled (24 July 2012) - Epic/Movie Metal
Too much cymbals, IMHO. Probably too much drum level overall, actually.
Sounds great, though.
"An Aspen Falls"
"Through the Wicker Gate"
I have no idea, just pick a name.
I just figured out what I hate about the cymbals. There's like a huge predelay on too much verb or something on them. (Or maybe the room mic needs to be nudged earlier?) Listen to the bit at 2:47.

Cymbals are quite loud and the guitars fight the bass both of which has been said. Piano sounds great and is incredibly emotionally stirring in context with the song. The kick could have a bit more thump to it but that might clash with the bass.
Chugging guitars in the solo are doing something funny at one particular frequency range i cant place my finger on, it just hits way to hard but thats my opinion you might like that.
I love the ending even if it did make me chuckle a little bit ( again probably just me)
My two cents worth, take or leave what you will.

Thanks for the other comments, guys. With all of you guys saying the same thing (more or less), I have a good idea on what I need to fix, and what seem to be my "common pitfalls" when it comes to recording my tracks. I appreciate the extra help in that regard! I haven't listened to the song in a while, which was intended, so that when I get back to it, I have some fresh ears and can put your guys' ideas into good use. Cheers!

@bretstradamus
I also would like the piano to come out more! It's a huge problem of polyphony, trying to decide which melody should come out. I think I just need to carve out a better spot EQ-wise so that they both can shine, and your ear can pick which one you'd rather listen to.
@m24p
Most likely, you're right. I definitely agree about the cymbals, now that I listen to it again. Will be pulling those down for sure. I'll see about which reverb I used on it, and check the pre-delay, it could very well be that!
@attwarren
I think with the solo, the guitars are pumping to hard in the lower-mids, because I'm playing an open palm-muted C there, so that definitely needs to be cleaned up. As for the ending, it's totally cheesy, but that's just how it goes, haha!
Thanks, guys!

Liked it! Very emotionally charged. It pulls you right along with the emotional changes. Well written and executed. It definitely has an Epic sound to it! Good job! Can't wait to hear it with the mix adjustments...
