test mix using Digidesign Eleven Rack and SSD4

Hey guys.....i just recently bought a Digidesign Eleven Rack and Steven Slate Drums 4 and wanted to put together a simple short test recording to see how it would sound.

...just wondering how the mix sounds with respect to guitar tone and drums. .....it sounds pretty good to my ears, maybe a bit more tweaking on the bass?

Keep in mind: this was only thrown together quickly for testing purposes....this is not something i'm looking to make a song out of.

Hi, there.

I'd personally add some reverb to the drums to make them sound like they're playing in some space. It won't be so noticeable when everything is going on, but for the parts where the drums are quite loud, it'll add the spacial dynamic. Just a small plate reverb, nothing ridiculous. Also, it's a very good idea to separate each drum to a different track (if you're not already doing so.)

Otherwise it sounded good to me!

I'm digging the clean guitar tones quite a bit. The distorted ones sound pretty good too, but the drums kind of get buried in the more rockin sections. I'd try pulling the guitars down a touch.

Cool feel for a test jam! Dido with advice above. Sounds real good as is though!
