After Discussing the pros and cons of Mixing stems totaly in the box and analogue summing in a Mastering Studio, I am uploading my Mixes to be judged by you all. Here is the "in the Box" version. No outboard processing whatsoever, I used the Waves L2 to maximize the track. I am taking the Stems to a Mastering Studio today i will post this mix tomorrow. Firstly let me hear of what you think of the Production and then tell me if you think the Studio Mastered version is any better. Please be gentle!!! |

Sounds good. The mix is solid. It sounds more like something that would be a on a Soda or cell phone commercial than I would be more inclined to listen to. I don't think they would use it on drug commercial yet. Interesting tune. Brandon |

It is a remix project, so we were given audio files with the melody parts, which are all synth parts.....We took these and stuck them thru amp modeler software to make em sound like guitars....{ we hope } The drums are a live 60s drum loop which we chopped in Cubase and tightened and slightly rearranged then we beefed it up with kik Drum Samples and sampled Snares. The bass is the vb1 bass module in Cubase with some other synth bass sounds on top of it. We kept on searching the internet for tips on eq and compression settings, then we did about 5/6 mixes checking it on different systems. today we took it to the mastering studio to get it maximum loudness and hopefully ensure that it sounds even on every system. For instance the mastering engineer was telling us that there are certain frequencies that he pushed when eqing the track that realy work on ipods. Anyhooo thats basically it Have a listen to the mastered version and tell us if you can hear the difference positive or negative Nufrespect Shminkydj |

This is a remix of a popular tune in england around 1992....which in my opinion was part of the birth of a new genre in music called "ambient" or "Chill out" which is now very popular in Ibiza where i live!!! Which is probably why it sounds Movie Soundtrack Cheers mate |
