Hi
My name is beau, i'm 17 and this is my first recording! My guitar teacher forced me to learn this guitar part on the spot and i did. I am a massive fan of Stone Temple Pilots, hence i chose Plush to Cover. I hope you all like it! It's also on my myspace which is MySpace.com - Beau Robinson - AU - Rock / Alternative - www.myspace.com/beaurobinsonmusic ![]() (Any comments are greatly appreciated!) Immediately the acoustic guitar sound has a bunch more low end than I would want and way too much reverb to sound natural. This kind of reverb (more or less) would work on Extreme's "More Than Words" or something like that but I'd be hesitant to put it on any STP song.
I'm trying to figure out why you went the big reverb direction. If I was gonna record Plush acoustic, I would want intimiate and close. (Much like their unplugged thingy 15 years ago....OUCH!...I wish I wouldn't have thought of that!) I think you could sing this way better. I'm guessing this is just a live take or something. There are times where it feels like you are singing just to be singing and not to truly express something. This is common in Baptist churches, but the difference here is you've got a killer example to follow. I don't expect you to be Scott Weiland or anything, but it's clear that you haven't quite gotten the feel of which words to smash and when to smash them. That takes practice or working with a producer who knows how squeeze that vocal out of you. Brandon
