Default Solo Acoustic with Vocals

Hello. I have tracked an acoustic guitar part for a new song I am working on. There will only be the single guitar with a vocal track. As I am pretty new to recording I was hoping to get some guidance on how to process the guitar part. I know you should try to get the best tone going in so the need for EQ is minimal later on. I am pretty happy with the overall "big picture" tone, although I know some tweaking needs to be done. Although I do not hear excessive bass on my studio monitors (M-Audio DX-4), I hear it when I play it back on some other speakers. What I don't know is how to hone in and determine what frequencies to cut or boost. Could someone please give me a little guidance on this?

Also, as I said, I am new to this so if anyone could give any recommendations on compression and reverb I would very much appreciate it. Basically, I am wondering what I need to work towards to make this recording 'pop'. (I hope that word isn't too vague)

The guitar part was recorded using two mono tracks both panned center. One track is from a mic (MXL V67) and the other track is direct.

Thanks so much for everyone's help!

The tones are nice although it sounds on my end like one of the tracks is being recorded too hot causing some distortion. Try turning the gain down a bit. other than that it sounds like a good full range that can be adjusted with eq once you've tracked vocals and have a better idea of how it will sit with them. I wouldn't try to compress these tracks or add any reverb until the gain issue is addressed, or you'll drive yourself nuts.

Thanks. I don't know how I missed the distortion. Now I hear it all the time. I will re-record it and repost as soon as I can.

I have re-recorded the track without the distortion. I was hoping to get some suggestions on compression, eq and reverb. Thanks.

Nice job Cjackson,
You might drop out some low end, and add an acoustic duo chorus effect to the track. I've found that will add some clarity to the acoustic guitar!
Sounds great, nice job!
All me best!

Thanks. My problem is I don't know what specific low end frequencies to cut. Do you have any suggestions?

Here is my attempt at adding eq, compression and reverb. I used a high pass to cut some of the bass. Also used a little medium plate reverb.
