v cool! i like it. good job i know nothing about the techinical changes you can make to get the sound you want as i'm very new to all this. It sounds to me tho that you were a little nervous recording the lead vocal, maybe if you were more comfortable with the words and they came out more effortlessly it would help. maybe if the vocals were tighter together that would help . But like you said you only had a day, so mess around and see how you get on it really is good though you shouldn't be so hard on yourself ![]() Dirk |

I've heard lots of guitars in my time, and I don't believe there is a guitar on this recording. AP. it's a keyboard, isn't it? I do like the upright bass sound, even if it is also a synth. I don't see the need for the lower voice, although I've heard that technique used in other similar recordings. With some hand-held percussion and congas, this would sound pretty cool. However, I'd ditch the lower vocal. |

Really I think it would make it sound like a "top notch" recording instead of just a "recording". I like the tune. |

OK, the vocals sound good. But I don't like how it's mixed now. If I sit about half way towards my left speaker it sounds great. Listening in the middle theres too much going on. I think the vocals need to be more centered, and more outfront. The music should act as more accompaniment to the vocals. Putting more guitar in the right would help me from moving around so much. Maybe adding some reverb to the bass vocals to sit them back would be awesome too. This sounds like it would be a fun song to mix. |

As for the vocals "phasing", it's very tough to get two different vocal tracks out of phase for more than a microsecond at a time. You are probably hearing pitch issues clashing. If that's the case, you simply need to tighten the performance up. Brandon |

Not digging the MIDI guitar - everything else is pretty good. The highest note in the vocal melody line seems like a stretch for your range (1:22 the worst example) - can you comp/overdub something in?
