show and tell
here is a song i am working on for my anniversary present to my wife.
i recorded it in cubase le with ez drummer and gearbox. the acoustic guitar is a jay turser recorder with a cheap tascam condenser mic pointed at the twelfth fret. the bass is a washburn no name using gearbox, as well as the electric. the vocals are through a the same tascam condenser. i used aradaz maximizer and kjaerhaus classic compressor. bash away and let me know any tips advice or to burn my computer and instruments lol!

Re: show and tell
This just proves that you can make something that sounds pretty nice with some inexpensive gear. The overall sound seems a little thin, cut some highs on the track overall maybe.
The song is nice.My Radio Show Fan Page- WE ALSO STREAM ON THE WEB!

Re: show and tell
I like the chord changes in this song & there's some good ideas developing. I think the chorus is a little long maybe? The drums sound a bit mechanical & the hi-hat in the beginning in particular, sounds overly loud. I can't hear much bass happening either, so beef up the bottom end. I don't mind your vocals, but they really need evening out if they are going to be so foward in the mix...some compression/limiting perhaps? Some phrases are really jumping out of the mix. By the way, this is a great idea for an anniversary present - I wrote & recorded a song for my wife in one all night 6 hour session on the occasion of our last anniversary & she loved it!

I think the song is excellent and she will definitely love it. The way I'm hearing the song I think it should bust out at :54 power chords, harder drums and more intense vox. It just sounds like its building up to that and then it gets a little more intense but not nearly enough. Excellent work though.

Re: show and tell
I like the tune it self but I hear some issues....
-the drums sound distant, maybe to much verb. Also try rolling off the high frequency on the verb, this might take some of the sting out of the hat sound.
-the guitar sits to quiet in the mix.... or maybe the vocal is to present.... leading me to....
-the vocal sound cool but with the other issues I am hearing, I think that maybe there may be to much of the effect on the voice.

Re: show and tell
You might want to recut and tune the lead vocal. I think the levels are too far back, bring them all up a bit. Cool song...she'll love it.
