Trond Hanshus is on a distinguished road
Default Sensor - "Fine Line", "Casting Pearls Before Swine" and "The Altar Of Love" demos

Here is three demos with my band; Sensor. Recorded on my laptop. I do everything in the recordings apart from the drumming. Drums were just recorded with a Shure SM58 mic! I used Cubase SX3 as DAW, and Line 6 Toneport UX2 as audio interface.

Quite solid performances & some good songs you've got here. I assume when you say you recorded the drums with "A" SM58 it means you just used one mic on the whole kit - that's what it sounds like to me, anyway... All things considered, you managed to get a some pretty good mixes from very little equipment. The problem is though, that the vocals & guitars have an almost pristine studio feel about them, but the drums sound very "garagey", & this is a bit too much of a contrast on songs like these. To get the drums sounding up to scratch, they need to be eq'ed properly, as the are adding lots of "mud" (through low-frequency buildup) to your mixes now.It would be great if you could get together a few more mics & inputs for your computer so you can multi-mike the drums. This is really the only way to achieve a more "studio" sound to them, so they match the rest of the music. The other alternative would be to get your drummer to use an "e-drum" setup so you can reproduce professionally recorded sounds from some of the virtual drum instruments that are available. I like what you've been able to achieve with what you got, though, so keep at it.
