Here's another 2...
These songs are currently having the drum parts added by our drummer. So what you'll hear is some "BFD" drums. So for the most part, these are a bit rough and not properly mixed. Any comments on the production or the songs themselves (cool, lame) are welcome. At least I can tell if our CD will flop or take off ![]() Last edited by akg414 : 07-16-2008 at 05:23 PM. |

I like the first song best. Both the songs have good production - I think the first song suits the singer's voice much better than the 2nd. Acoustic guitars sound excellent, but the lead guitars sound a little thin for my liking. These songs will really benefit from real drums. At present they have a rather "leaden" feel. Will you re-do the bass as well to lock in with the new drums? or is your drummer that good? It would be a shame to have to do the bass again as it sounds great now - very melodic & really well played.

Here's my take...
Still Too Close - I like this track, especially the use of slide guitar. I wish, instead of the suedo-talkbox lead, you'd have done a hot slide lead... but that's just me. ![]() Roadside Shrines - I think I don't like the use of slide guitar in this song... But I really dug that "calm before the storm" approach to the lead break! I must admit, I was expecting just a little more shred out of that lead, but it was nice and tasty, just the same... ![]() Two thumbs up... way up!

![]() That thing is real - a Heil... It's the "gimmick" part on the album ![]() As for the calm-before the storm - thanks, that's exactly what I was going for. And excuse the tone of the guitar solo, it's going to be re-done (cleaner) and the tone will come from my Deluxe Reverb (not Amplitube). |
