Default Roll your Rock Take one

This is one of those stupid songs I wrote along time ago. I just threw it together for shits sake. I am trying to be quiet in my Apt so I only listened to this on headphones so far. I will redo this soon in my studio. The lead guitar is just something I jambed into it I will probably change it later also. I do want something rather radical to go with the name of the song... Not sure it is exactly what I want. I sure need practice though. Can't wait until I get my real drums set up. This is fruity loops 4.0 on drums. I know there is alot wrong with this cause I couldn't hear when I recorded it so Bash away!

Yeah I guess this is what happens when you can't make any noise! And I stayed up late doing this... Don't ya hate that? stay up all night... make a top 40 go to bed and get up and it's all ready a moldy oldie!! This one should be easy to improve on LOL...

Dunno Dave. The rhythm guitar sounds a bit too chunky. Drop out some of the low mids in it. Seems like it's taking up too much space.

I like the lead stuff. You got some pretty cool licks in there. heh

Vulconizer, This is not like you to take it so easy on someone... I listened to it again this morning and almost puked! I will do what you say on the guitar via the mids but I really think it need alot more... I feel as if I need to re record the whole thing again but, I will play with this a bit... I will probably learn something.

Nah, I figure if you get one point to work on, then your ears will follow through on the rest of the stuff.

You know what you're gonna want and you had come across in the first post as if you already wanted to make some changes.

It's a cool idea. Just needs you to really sit down with it, I think.

You might want to look into BFD Drums as you can get a pretty realistic Kit sound, even on this type of tune. But most definetly Drums are the weakest Link.

Thanks for the suggestion but, I really don't want to spend any more money on drum plug ins. As soon as I get my studio up and running, I have 2 drum kits I will be using. I like to play what I am going to have going into the song myself or have someone else, on real drums or digital/triggered kit. This is mostly to get an idea of how the song is going to sound. I am sure there are alot of better drum plug ins out there..... by far... Notice I didn't put any rolls into this at all. Anyways here it is after working on guitar sound some. I think I may be going deaf tonight so it may be a little too crisp?

Reminds me of something from Accept, just a lot slower and no screaming German dudes. lol

I think you cleared the mud out of the guitars just fine now. They don't sound too bright to me here at home.

Get a tad more level and a little air into the drum bus and you got the thing cookin' in my opinion.

Good going man.

Is that the riff to "Looks that Kill"? If it isn't pretty close. The guitar sound is just not happening. The performance is sloppy.

Thanks for your comments... Looks that kill sounds not even close to this. It uses some of the same cords but it isn't arranged at all the same. I guess I am influenced by Mötley Crue? Go and listen to looks that kill and then listen to this again... I do need alot of work on my guitar playing but I am a sound engineer... It has been awhile since I played seriously as you can tell. Thanks though, thats why I put it on here. I never hold back when I post a comment on someone elses stuff and I expect the same in return. I will work harder on playing things better in the future..

Dave - not to be mean or anything but you need to move away from the board a bit bit and start playing that guitar, at least that's what seems to be the biggest problem in the case of this recording.

BTW - if it makes you feel better, I need to do the same. I auditioned a drummer last weekend and had to play standing up after 2 years of playing standing down. THat was brutal!
