Default Rain Coming Down

Looking for opinions on this recording..Our lead guitar player wrote and composed the rhythm before hand and the rest was done on the fly...We got it recorded and looking for feedback on the mix...for ex: how the vocal sits in the mix....guitar too loud or to soft...too much alcohol in the mix..lol..just whatever stands out to you that could be tweaked...appreciate any feedback

I like the song you've written here. The performances in general are good. The vocal sits well in the mix & the pitching & timing are generally good bar a few very minor pitch quibbles in the harmonies. The rhythm guitar sounds OK. The drums seem to have something funny happening with the snare, like there's some phase cancellation going on. Have you mono'd a stereo track here? - that could be the culprit. The biggest problem is the lead guitar sound here... There is no nice way of saying it - it's plain horrible! Sorry to be so blunt, but it's really spoiling a potentially good song. It's not the playing - that sounds quite competent - it's the actual sound itself - it's thin, fuzzy & buzzy, & it's the reason you might be having problems with balancing the mix...It's the kind of sound that, to make it half palatable, you have to mix it so low you can barely hear it, or if you have it where you can hear it, it floods & ruins everything. Fix the guitar sound & you're well on your way to producing a nice song!

I have to agree the guitar sound is not right for the song. I suspect it was played direct with no amp or pre amp involved. A guy i used to jam with years ago always did this and the effect was not good. You need to play it through an amp and get it mic-ed up. Or use a pod or similar if you have one.
I like the song tho' and once you get the guitar sound sorted it will improve no end.

A friend of mine called this guitar tone "Bee in a Jam Jar"
There is a very demo sound to this demo.
As the guy said earlier. Mike the guitar amp.
The acoustic sounds like you've gone from the built in acoustic pickup.
You could try miking it up for a natural sound with a condensor mike.
The drums sound like just bass and snare. Needs a little more variety.
