This is my first song post, It's a short instrumental. Let me know what you think.
I attached a slightly different mix. taking the advice of fellow members. Last edited by garagegear : 07-26-2008 at 01:07 AM. |

The acoustic guitar is slightly out of tune.
The low end is undefinied. I feel like I should be hearing the kick drum much more clearly yet at the same time the bass could be louder. Wait a minute! That probably means you should try to pull the guitars down a bit. They are WAY out in front compared to the drums and bass. Brandon

Thanks for the advice guys. I tried what you suggested. I took the lead guitar down, as well a the acoustic a little, and then brought the bass up a touch. The mix seems a little more solid now. Thanks again. It can be difficult to figure out what is wrong with a mix after listening to it so many times. You have been very helpfull

Post the new clip if you want. We can keep on going with this. It's common when mixing to fix one problem and then 4 more pop up.

The out of tune acoustic is still bugging me. This feels much better than I remember the other one sounding (I think!).
There is a spot where the bass falls out 0:32 or so. That can't happen. It's way too distracting for conveying anything with intensity. This sounds pretty good to me. Brandon
