Hell yeah man.

Drop a tad of the reverb on the vocals. You sing well enough that they don't need nearly that much, in my opinion. of course, part of the vibe is the verb on the vox, so just a little less.

I can see myself dancing ( in a very non-Vulcan way ) with my pretty lady to that tune.

I hear just a hint of Van Morrison in there somewhere.

Am laughing like hell at the mental picture of you dancing (In a non-Vulcan way) with your pretty lady. Surely that is illogical?
Very kind words tho Vulcon
Thank you, I am busy working on bits and pieces at the moment but like I pointed out on another thread I moved address recently and don't have a fully funcional studio at present (The next couple of weeks should see it sorted) so I am just at the pc with headphones on at the moment. I am also racking my brains about where to find gospel singers, pretty thin on the ground in rural Scotland.

I'm sure you'll get it all together soon and when you do, it will be a good thing. Just enjoy it man.

As far as gospel singers in Scotland, I can imagine that might be tough. Probably about as tough to find as straight hookers in Key West.

LOL.

Yes it's taking a little longer than I would have liked but it is very close now.

Trimmed and played around with and here is a new mix.

Not finished yet of course but heading in the right direction.
thank you again for all the input everyone.

Start right out of the box with the guitar solo. I know those are cool noises but about 6 beats would be plenty. The vocal flanging is producing some low freq artifacts. Roll those off. How much do you hate the drummer? Get him in the mix! That's a cool China-like cymbal he's using as well as some other techniques and is equally as interesting as the traditional Fender sounds you got going. More of narrative arc on the solo pushing toward the last vocal, which would be easier to manage if the solo was shorter. After the solo, how about a slightly different texture from the band? Backing vocals and less fill gtr? Dial the bassiness of the bass back. I think there's a good bass sound there but can't be sure. Vocal's great and the mic suits it well. i'da ended it at the chord at 4:42 but that's just me. That last last part doesn't help and feels weird stylistically.

Reaaly great song.

Thank you garageband for your input. But did you listen to the first mix or the latest one I put up only there is no 4.42 in the second mix, because i shortened the intro. Good point about the vocal harmonies and i will be exploring that sometime very soon.
Regards
Neil
