Default this is my first producer credit.

So like the title say's this is my first producers credit. I have only ever really recorded and mixed in the past and this is my first real go at producing. I also mixed and mastered this as well. would love if the band got more listens and I got some feedback.

its a short (12 min) prog metal EP. any and all comments are welcome.

Maybe its because im not a big fan of this kind of metal,or the vocals to be honest.

I didn't mind the opening credits track, that done it for me.After that i lost interest very quickly, especially when i heard female vocals and the other vocals,i couldn't understand a word he was saying either.Other than that, after 1:30 on the second track i thought sounded pretty cool(like the credits track),i liked that. The guitar work during that section i mentioned is the kind of stuff i dig personally.

It all sounds fairly professional.Better than anything i can do,it just wouldn't be on any of my playlists.

    Why?

Maybe this kind of metal is more directed at women? like Nightwish and all them kind of bands.Hence having female vocals would attract certain listeners.
That might be the reason why i don't and cant get into it.I do listen to alot of heavy music and have listened to this type of music before too.

Hopefully someone that gets into this type of music will chime in and give you a reply.

    Cheers

Very nice job. I'd personally prefer the female leads to jump out of the mix a little less. Did you double any of the vocals? That might have helped you push them back a little without having to resort to reverb or delay. Other then that nitpick: top notch work. You should be proud.

thanks very much for the complements. I'm very much proud of this release. I feel as though its some of my best work to date.

the female vocals we wanted to jump out and be the focal point of the song. the band also wanted a very wet vocal sound. a very common thing I was asked during mixing was to add more reverb on specific parts and so on. and to answer your question. we doubled almost everything. the vocal tracks I think total close to 50 out of 151 tracks alone.
