Default My first original composition.

As the title stated, this is my first original composition, "Prelude." It was written as a first term Intro to Electronic Music final project. I used MIDI tracks in Pro Tools (sounds are from a Roland JV-1010), and Reason (via ReWire).

Feedback from my friends and family has been positive, but it's not like my mom's going to say "This sucks shit." She'd love it regardless of how much shit it sucked. I'd like to get some honest feedback from people who haven't got the foggiest idea who I am, so I thought I'd post it here.

Tell me what you think! Feel free to offer suggestions and such as well. Thanks!

I think its well put together. The instrument choices are good. When the pan flute acts as the lead instrument, I believe it gets a tad too busy IMHO. I think the song should have a point where it dies down to almost one or two instruments, so that it can have a break from the overall feel, then come back in with more instruments than toward the beginning. I like your use of the stereo spread.

Pretty cool. I keep waiting for Phil Collins to jump in with a vocal track. Very clean sound and I like the instrumentation. I'm impressed!

Sounds pretty good: I'd say the biggest issue (in my headphones anyway) is a buildup of lower-mids/upper-bass frequencies, which could easily be controlled by some simple EQ'ing.

Arrangement-wise, the whole thing sounds pretty decent, not particularly exciting of course but I'm assuming you're going for the ambient thing so no problem there! The bass guitar line needs some improvement though in my ears: it just doesn't go anywhere, and sitting on the same two notes for as long as it does starts to get annoying to me.

Just my $0.02!

The sounds are neat, but the song itself goes nowhere. Very repetitive in my opinion. I kept hoping for a sweet chord change to resolve the composition.
