Hey man, sounds cool! I am curious why you are asking about the guitars? Do you feel the sound is not full? I think the guitar sounds okay. Cool riffs! I do have an initial dis-like. The drums and guitars sound good, but the shape is thin/narrow. It is very tight and almost too unrealistic by the end of the song. But, it is a cool song and cant wait to hear when you get going with mixing it!!

Yeh man, definately the drums the most. I just listened to it again. I think the drums sound to monotonous. I know that is a cliched word, but while the effect and rythym are there, the tone and intensity are consistent almost sounding redundant. The snare is just pounding away with the same tone and color. Oh, and definately add another guitar in there for some flava!! I hope that explains my comment and thought process a little better for you. It is just a mix however, and I'm sure you'll re-vamp it and bust out a better mix! Let us know if and when you get around to mixing it up....

Sorry, I should have been more descriptive. It sounds like a good metal song. I think the guitars are spot on. The drums sound "programmed", but you will just have to keep programming to get them to sound more "natural". Learning how to sequence well is like learning how to play well.

Ah this site rules. It's hard to get an honest opinion on music sometimes. I'm def. considering perhaps touching up the drums. It could sound better with 'trippled-sixteenths' and less snare at some parts. They're pretty much limited to left and right recording with little or any bleeding. So they'll always sound kinda digitized maybe. As far as the guitar, I really am sort of satisfied with it. But I think it might sond better with a 3rd or 4th track(excluding leads)... Should I play an exact duplicate of the two tracks and pan it a certain way? Panning anyone? Last edited by Money Shot; 02-10-2008 at 04:48 AM. |
