Default Metal track - Progress in work.

Hello, everyone. This track is a work in progress and I would appreciate any help with mixing. It's only guitars and drums by the way. I haven't done anything to the drums because I know nothing about them so I hope someone may be able to help me with the guitars. Any comments would be great!

Hey dude, my first suggestion would be to add bass. It's uber important to have that low end in order to get a good mix. One thing I can say about your drums is that the kick isn't as clear as I would like. That's just me. Start by reducing the 200hz area and boosting anywhere from 6000hz-10000hz for that nice metal click. It's hard to say much else because so much is riding on the bass. Cheers!

U record the rhythms in stereo? Cause if u do u shouldn! u got a cool rhythm part there..try double tracking the guitars and panning them one totally left and the other totally right..at least thats what i do..that way u get more space for your lead guitar which will be in the middle (i assume)

Kinda lacking some low end. If you've got bass recorded now, boost that sucker up! Try adding some low end to your guitars too. Like a previous reply mentioned, try doubling your takes and panning one hard left and one hard right. This will make a worlds difference.

Hey, thanks for the reply. How do I boost the low end? I'm new to eq so I've been kind of blindly doing it which is obviously why it sounds that way. I actually thought there was maybe too much low end in the guitars but I'll do that as well. Here is a mix I had done right after that one if you want to check it out http://soundcloud.com/allegiance-now/rush-to-judgment-ex-mix

Oh and the guitars are recorded that way. One take hard left and one take of the same guitar with another pick up panned hard right. and then one right down the middle. Is that middle one not needed?

I want to go for a ride too !!!!
Eh anyways add an "acoustic" kick (or boost up the 6k region on this one).
Clean up the right side on the intro (when the guitar gets panned left there is dirt on the right side).
Narrow down the low-end. Just cut it up and leave nothing at first. Than gradually see what fits and what does not.

At the moment the bass is very full.
Maybe layer some snares into this. But just at points not all over the place.
Than the metal aspect of the drums has to be redone.
Maybe you can use the crashes already present to pop in a sampled crash on top of um.(Layering again).

2.39 syncopation small problem and at the arrangement transition afterwards another small syncopation issue.
(No I am not going to look for all of them)

On a side note this song reminds me of orion.
