this is heavy stuff bro. are you an 8 string user or a 7 string dropper?? the mix is good bro.
i like the tone and the drum tracks(ancient warrior) just lessen on the 2-3k(guitars on the test big bottom). sometimes it hurts. good job bro
keep it up!

Hey Glen,
Digging the songs...makes me want to rock some Meshuggah, hehehe.

For Ancient Warrior, I think you have a great tone captured, but I think you are using a little too much distortion when tracking the song. My suggestion would be to cut it back a little so it cleans up the playing some....

As for the levels, they sound pretty good on my computer, as I can hear everything clearly BUT the snare because it's a little on the thin side. Other than that, it's definitely headed in the right direction! I'm really digging the guitar tone!

As for Test Big Bottoms, the guitars are a little loud overall, and at some points when they are solo'd in the track (00:28 secs for example), it's hard to tell what they are doing....this goes back to the amount of distortion that you are using. Also, the snare is a little low in the mix as well...it's plenty loud up until 00:28 seconds though...is there a different snare being used at this point?

To brianinogang: thanks man for bringing some input..

I'm using a 6th string guitar, tuning drop A.. it's funny you asked cause
i had the impression people would think i use 7 string's hahaha.
This happened purely accidental when i was making a new sound on
the X3 with a preset from customtone, i was thinking let's use drop A for
this. The original sound has altered much sounded too dry at the
beginning, but the level is acceptable now.. glad you liked it!

The test big bottom guitars are too loud indeed, in this sample i turned levels
already down.. i used too much compression on them.
thanks for clearing that up..

Listened out curiousity one of your youtube video's
great song, great guitarskills i say.. it's like you are giving a home concert
the end was great to bro, i hope i could play more that way too in the
future.. will keep checking your youtube ch!

Thank's
glenn

To whiterabbit_the,

Funny that you mentioned meshuggah, cause long ago when they first
started i saw a video of them, they where not bad and had something
special, after that i did loose track of them doing other things..

I hear this name alot on forums as many people are influenced by them
i saw a couple video's esspecially where only the guitarist and drummer
played a session, was very awesome.. maybe i'm too are influenced a bit
somehow hahaha!

Thanks for the input i will see if i can lower the distortion to see what's
coming out on ancient warrior.
As for Test Big Bottoms: i played 2 guitartracks and panned them left/right
when i was playing that 2nd track my timing was not so correct causing a
reverb effect.. the other thing is: i use also a chorus effect on them
and that patch already used indeed a lot of distortion so i will see into this..

About the snare, yes there's another up until 00:28 seconds though..
i use drum samples from a cd, on that point i used another sample
that was somehow raddically different from the first.
I will work on the snares in the future.

Thanks again for the great inputs, this helped me a lot so far
greetings
glenn

Yeah i watch continually the line6 forums, it really is a bummer when you
can't upload or download a patch, if there really is a patch you dreamed
of taking off send me the name of it and i will see what i can do..
if that's not working i will post the settings instead.

I will let you now when there's some new mixes
thanks
glenn
