This sounds like a hip-hop New Edition. That is a compliment. This track needs some ass thump. I'm listening on ear buds at work, that might be part of it.

Other than that, this is some seriously professional shit. The background parts "somebody call 911" etc, are great. You can actually hear all of the lyrics - a big plus for an old white guy like me. That part reminds me of the production style of the guys who did "Heatwave" - the band in the late 70's. They also did Michael Jackson's "Off the Wall" album.

This is really really good.

Awsome, well done. Particularly the chorus with the layered pitch-shifted vocals.

As was said by someone else, the bottem end is real weak. Not sure what you are mixing it on monitor wise but play it in the car or something after listening to something commercial.

Hey guys thanks for the input! The monitors I use aren't really monitors, I use PA Speakers that I use for DJing lol. I usually burn it on a CD then listen to it in my car and make final changes. This isn't really an official remix but I did it for this girl I know, yea I'm a nice guy. The bass seems to be fine for me, it knocks in my car, but then again maybe my subwoofers are set a little to high maybe. Ill keep the tips handy though for future songs. I am saving up for some real monitors and purchasing some within the next month.

I think I am starting to understand why this sounds so "professional"? It is professional, ie a major label release that you just re-mixed? Or is it an original thing that you helped to record? Leave it to me to be so out of touch.

Yea it isn't an official remix. I have a subscription to promo only cd's for djing and I came across the instrumental and the vocals so I just put it all together with a couple verses of my own using my home studio. To my ears it doesn't sound too bad but hey I tried.

I agree with everyone else, the high and midrange are real sweet; the low end is lackin'!

So it does have some of your own musical content then- that legitimizes it and puts it back in the "very cool" bin. Nice.

Hah thanks. Yea I'm a hiphop songwriter/performer and I felt that I could relate to this song well so I just put my little spin on it. Happy you guys like it. =)
