This isn't mastered, so it is what it is for now.. An interesteing note, the guitar solo/lead was "first take magic" while laying ruffs for the drummer(me). We liked it so much we kept it. It didn't come without a price though; I blew the ribbon out of my RCA BK-5B mic that I was using on his amp...

Nice work. Good song and performance. The only thing I would suggest is a little more presence for the kick and bass guitar but that could just be a personal preference. I like it, keep up the good work.

What mic did you used on vocals? They are unique sounding. It's not a sound I'm used to hearing. Is it a ribbon? Kind of reminds me of my R121 for some reasons.

The vocal chain is a Neuman u67 to an Avalon 737 (mic pre only) to a DBX 160vu directly into the PT rig. The vocalist has amazing mic technique as well. The mic was definatly worth the rental fee. We got some great sound on the songs we did with it. The only other mic I use on this vocalist is a RODE K2. That mic is remarkably close to a vintage u67. I have used many u67's and a couple of different K2's and am still amazed that my $700.00 tube mic sounds like the $6000.00 vintage german mic I rent.
