Default laid down blues/funk

Hey guys, I just laid down a real short track, inspired by a buckethead song.. check it out, it needs some help I think.. specifically with eqing the lead line. Enjoy.

Cool piece of noise! My only comment is that the drums are really far back in the mix. Maybe you could bring them forward a little. Also, maybe try replacing that hi hat with a ride cymbal bell... try it and see, I think it would be more "funky".

i pushed up the mids on the drums a bit.. and I did a finalized solo that I'm actually pleased with... beat still kind of sucks.

i like the third mix.good pickin in a blues doodlin kinda way! MORE THUMP IN THE KICK IS NEEDED! some drum fills to break it up some.the work between the bass and the kick to me is fundamental. then the rythm needs some sharp cutting thru stuff! still i enjoyed the classic blues lines they are always nice! in the early mixes you put in some adventure notes[doggymendeds, dementeds etc.etc.]they will work if they are carefully placed.don't give up on those, they can be nice suprises! thanks for your post!

yeah ill go back at some point and re-eq the drums.. i just started programming beats so i suck at it.. but in any event i plan on extending the song and ill make sure to throw some more fusiony licks in.

The bass has no definition and I think it throws off the whole mix. Nice guitar playing.

The bass is the only track that was recorded mono.. with that have anything to do with that? Otherwise, how else can I remedy this issue?
