Default This isn't really a bash (I made midi!!)

This is just a sample of a riff I wanted to record and to experiment with plugins and midi. It's also been a long time since I've posted anything. I hope listeners enjoy all 30 seconds =D

P.S. I love this snare sound.

The guitar sound is pretty cool if you are going for a Nine Inch Nails kind of thing.

I like the sound a lot ... can you tell me exactly how you got the guitar sound? You mention 4 tracks, 2 tones ... does this mean you recorded the same exact part 4 times, using the same tone twice then a second tone for the other two? Then I assume you panned them differently some how? [i'm sure most people would know exactly what you were talking about but i'm kinda new at this]

for my own tastes I would like to hear what it would sound like with a little space (very short rest) around the guitar part on bar 4, beat 4, either immediately before, after or during this little riff ... this would break up the otherwise continuous line and make an exciting orgasmic pause ... during a vocal line i wouldn't do this, but if its purely instrumental a little rest would do wonders for me ... but maybe it would just sound like shit

Yea pretty much. 1 tone panned hard left/right and another tone panned not as far left/right. That's what I did and it was just an experiment. I've heard that 3 tracks with 2 hard left/right and one close to the center can be better. Try some stuff out.

It reminds me of the glorious OM riff done by Gong and then Steve Hillage but alot heavier. Very hipnotic.
