Default Instrumental Rock

Hey guys, I'm a novice when it comes to full band recording and I was wondering if someone would be willing to critique this mix. I'm using a Firepod that running through Reaper.

Thanks!
Yamil

Hey cool tune! I just think the kick needs more low end or maybe less mid click (attack). Everything else seemed ok to me maybe after you thud the lick a bit something also may need wotk? Thatsd all I noticed for now.

no problem bashing. the only problem is downloading your song. try posting it here. if you have problem getting cut off when attaching large files like this one i suggest you do this... while attaching a large file here at recordingreview open a new tab and go to recordingreview.com "again" and login and browse the site. the main logic is to avoid being disconnected. if you browse on another tab, the previous tab wont be disconnected while uploading coz the the two are somehow connected. as for the song. i think you did a good job for starters. i think you should put a compressor on the bass guitar. the kick drum is not cutting. try bringing it up. it's eqw is just right. just needs to be brought up the electric guitars(distorted) has too much low's on it especially on the left. the clean tones sound good. the snare sounds good too. keep mixing and you'll get to your target sound.

Thanks a lot for the suggestions, I've brought up the bass using compression and it sounds a lot better. I'll be posting a mix I just finished today soon!

okay. just make sure that its also has somehow the same intensities after being compressed. volume is one thing but balance is another.

Yeah, I definitely made sure to keep it from pumping. It's the fact that the bass player was inconsistent that really took away from the cohesiveness of the track. Now on to getting the kick to stop running into the bass, I want a punchy kick but I also want to keep some of the lows from the bass. How do I do this without having them interfere?
