I might add that this is my first attempt at using Massive in anything I've done. So if you think the patches sound cheesy....YOU'RE RIGHT!!!![]()
Greetings folks! I've worked on this tune and the mix for as long as I can stand. I guess the ADD is kicking in. I went pretty bright on the guitar end of things for this mix as I always end up with overly dark guitars. Right before I was done tracking this tune I had to return the bass I used back to my friend who so graciously let me borrow it. The last riff of the song had to be done with a pitch shifted guitar. Not the greatest, but it's what I had to work with. Let me know what you think!![]()

Guitars don't sound overly bright to me. The intro is a bit long and the synth is IMO too loud relative to the lo-fi drums. You should probably nudge it down in volume and the lo-fi drums up in volume, maybe a dB each.
Mix sounds pretty solid.
i actually didn't mind the bright guitar sound.....i think the bass needs more punchiness though. Synth was a little loud in the intro.....other than that, i really liked the mix.
Hey, man. Creative song, and I like it a lot. Here are my suggestions:
Lower the synth intro in volume relative to the drums, I think I know your idea was to have drums that are tinny/low in the beginning and then come in full force, it just seems too loud for me.
The kick drum gets lost - but you can feel it. You might want to play with the click attack and beater frequencies to bring it out more. Click attack is around 4000-5000Hz, and beater would be 1000-4000Hz. It'd probably make more sense to make it a bit more clicky, since this is typical of the genre.
For bass, attack and punch is around 700-1000Hz. You can also supplement this with padding the sound of the pick, probably around 4000-5000Hz, but that would be unusual as typically that frequency is cut in order to help hide the pick noise.
The mix is quite listenable, but those are my suggestions.Good job!
Wow, love the synth!![]()

Everyone's said good things. Hate the China cymbal sample.

I think it's great. I like everything about it. The intro is too long, but other than that... The calmer mid section is well done even though I feel the drums sound a bit plastic in this part, the delay is effective. The guitars sound really good too.
I think the mix is very listenable.
Hey guys thanks for all of the feedback! Much appreciated!![]()
I for one love the synths you used. Great job.. and personally this type of music isn't usually my cup of tea but I found this very enjoyable! Mix was done very well and everything seemed to blend well except for the drums to me. Keep in mind that I am no engineer and still learning but heres my take. I loved the kick and snare but I found there were times where the cymbals sounded out of place and didn't seem to fit if that makes sense. Overall, I really liked it!
Cool song. I really like the original fast pace! The tripple chops in the quick breaks (52 - 1:10) just before the dynamic drop is very original - still hear it. The overall flow with the synth and guitars is addictive. Great guitar work too.
Impressive!

Quick, hit the record button before I forget this riff!
Good job, everything has mostly been saidAnother thing you could do if you want the synth to be that loud, is to just turn down the high end info in the synth. The 10khz and above range with a low pass filter. Your chocie, though, just giving another suggestion.
This is a very dynamic mix, very big louds and softs.
The synth part is cool, but it's definitely not a 'lead' so I would lower it right down into the background once the guitars come in. I usually don't like metal but this is pretty cool
RAWWWWK! Who's the guitar player? He sounds pretty awesome...
