Default I'm in heaven

OK. I just realised where the opening line "I'm in heaven" comes from in this song. I was under "extreme" inspiration from Louis Armstrong's cheek to cheek. Beyond the first line, the song comes into its own and is no longer outright plagiarism. Actually I like to think of it as tipping my hat to the master himself.

Anyway let me know if this is plagiarism. Also, the bane of my life- mixing. Any comments on the mix welcome. Song is "I'm in heaven" @

SoundClick artist: Sunny Z - Everything is recorded at home.

Heaven, I’m in heaven
In your love I am found
In our life I abound
By your side

Heaven, I’m in heaven
I have you to lean on
We face life as we’re one
From now on

I’ve had my moments of straying without you
It left this feeling that was cold and bare
I’ve come to reclaim you

Heaven, I’m in heaven
And the world through our eyes
Makes me strong makes me wise
This feels right

I’ve had my moments of straying without you
It left this feeling that was cold and bare
I’ve come to reclaim you

Heaven, I’m in heaven
In your love I am found
In our life I abound
By your side

Heaven, I’m in heaven
I have you to lean on
We face life as we’re one
From now on

Paradise is in the hearts of the ones we love
Paradise is in the heart of the one above

The drum reverb stands out like a sore thumb. I'm a big fan of big, live sounding drums but I don't think that sound is appropriate for this song.

This is a cool little tune. I like it.

I really like this song.
nod to Joe Walsh.
nod to Ringo Starr solo.
nod to Ray Davies of the Kinks.

Critique:

Need to decide at which point what instruments will take the lead in the mix.
This tune is a whirlwind calypso carousel.
All of instruments spots should celebrate this.
When you lead (wiki "leading voice") -lead.
Most mixes have an instrument section moving to the foreground temporarily, then moving back. Then the next instrument, and so on.
Also, in the intro, I heard your reverb distrubuted amongst the main instruments evenly and with care and then as the song unfolded, the reverb well......

2) Though this songs strength is being waaaaaaay laid back, it needs to be ironic and have your instruments be both feet in the mix when doing their thing throughout your very carefree and loving composition.

3)You are a composer munmun, dammit.
Stop and take a look at the phenom of "songs within songs."
Take your prolificness in writing different tunes and write (mix down) each instruments part like you write different tunes....... hint: scales within keys.
One song treated with this much care is the small subset that hooks thousands to your fanbase at myspace or soundclick. Not just hundreds.
