A bit different from most songs I have heard on here. My first song to bash. What do you think? appreciate all comments.

Hm...im not sure how to critique this sort of music. It sounds exactly like final fantasy music.

1) I think the mix is a little too right dominant.
2) main keyboard is not wide enough. I would try to create more of a stereo image out of it. Its really the main thing going on and it sounds lackluster.
3) keyboard needs a little punch. you could try compressing a little more and bringing up in the mix

Real mellow sounding...if you are going for that then you are on the right track.

Thanks Dsangree
You've given me some ideas to work on. I am going for mellow and thanks for moving outside your comfort zone musically.

really liked this!
very nice guitar!
cello sound works a treat!
keyboards might lack some nice treatment, reverb / echo, sort of thing, to make a more spacey sound, that returns to that lovely guitar!

Final Fantasy? lol
This is killer. Actually brought a smile to my face. Around 2:20 I got chills. Seriously.

I agree about it leaning to the right, but just a tad. Maybe a little more abience on the guitar too.

I like this song!

One thing I would do though, is I would record the guitar tracks twice, and pan one left and the other right. That will make it sound a lot better. Also yes, probably more reverb on the guitar. Also I think a softer keyboard sound would be more suitable... it sounds a little harsh compared to the rest of the song. Maybe just switch to a standard sine wave or something? I dunno- that's up to you though

Anyways though It's a good song and I can listen to it as-is.

Hey thanks guys. Just looked back here after a few days absence and appreciate your comments. I have done a bit of work on it and here is ver 2. Have had some gear probs and my monitoring situation isn't that great. Have just installed a tascam fireone interface which is playing back audio fine and improved monitoring considerably but can't work out how to get it to work as a control surface for logic express 8. If you can give me any pointers on that I would be very grateful. I understand it should be possible even though it is not one of the original supported interfaces.
