Yo yo, cool sound. I dig the guitar sound. Probably the biggest thing for me is the snare. I don't feel the sound fits the genre. Probably get a little more bottom end out of the kick drum too.
Good luck!

Good friends of mine have been looking to record a Promo track for distribution at local shows and on the internet in order to get their name out. I really enjoy what they do so I decided to step up and for "educational" purposes try my best shot at giving them a free track. Before we start recording we went through a couple things together and we all agreed that it must be dirt cheap and it must keep the real in your face, jam space , punch in the throat vibe that we get when its being played live.
So i made a quick mockup of the drums and the guitars as a preview before we start recording. I tried to nail a particular live space sound. This is huge practice for me as i never used this many reverb tricks and fx tracks in my life.
I recorded a live session of the song and tabbed all the drums by ear and tried to get that crazy snare this drummer uses. I might have to get samples of it because its a 13" snare, not a piccolo but not a standard size, the real snare sounds so loud and tight it hurts.
Plz bash away. Plz point where i could use more or less verb, or how i could make this model sound even more "real". TY!
Oh ya its only a 1min sample because I didn't figure the entire song out by ear yet so i just sampled something that we could hear all the drum pieces and guitars.

Does the recording sound fake ? Thats my biggest worry. Ty for the comment, i knew probably not many people would post because its just a drum, a guitar and a very simple track mockup. I'm trying to make it sound as aggressive as the live setting. God i gotta get me that snare sample, no one would believe the crack that thing has.
Actually sounds really good IMO, can't wait to hear it with the real snare sample. Also, a bass line might help to make those drums sound more realistic.
Yeh im just going to wait for the guitarist and bassist to come track their shit because I can't play what this bassist plays on this song, its like wierd "hardcore version of rancid" bass runs...Sounds cool though but i might have to talk him down to a couple well placed runs instead of a too many useless ones.
nice i really dig the guitar tone and double kick tones sounds very clean but i think it could use some tighting
