Default The Greatest Solo Ever?

Heres the deal.......I submitted a song a few days ago called "Dirty Bomb" . I originally wrote the whole song in Guitar Pro 5. The problem is that after I composed all the parts, I found that I couldnt play the solo....lol My mind is better than my hand I guess.....haha.....So the first version I submitted was with a crappy solo that I threw on in real time just to button up the song...

Well.....Now I took the original solo and ran the midi out threw amplitube.....It sound kind a cheesy because you can tell that its not a real guitar, but Damn im proud of the solo and how it flows.......
Check it out-----It start at about 3:03...Listen to the whole thing, I couldnt quite nail the 5 string arpeggio sweep picking....

Let me know what you think of this solo.......Thanks
Josh

hell if i know.........Im actually watching the Metal Method DVDs to get a grasp on understanding music better.....Ive been playing for 15 years and never took lessons....So i learned everything the wrong way and the hard way.....Alot of my techniques are flawed and I still cant grasp more expert techniques like arpeggioed sweep picking..As for scales,I wouldnt know a dorian from a mixolydian to a phrygian. All i know is that phrygian sounds cool for the middle eastern metal sound.....
lol

watch john petrucci's rock discipline lessons. his techniques are easy and could make you lightning fast in just one week.(depending on your discipline.hehe) semi tone chromatic scales. metronome is a must in those lesson. if you want arpeggios, i think speed kills 2 would be the most practical. easy and yet horrible. it was a lot of help for me. i got it from limewire. its faster there. but if you want torrents, i got my speed kills from btmon.com. richie kotzen and greg howe also rips if you want to be a pentatonic expert. from tapping to scale management. everything man. if you want guitar lesson programs for pc, i can send you my guitar speed trainer. all of the scales are there and the method is good. step by step easy to learn lessons. just give me your email adress on a private message here at recording review. i'll send it to you afterwards. i'd be glad to help you on your guitar playin journey. nice solo here. i still wanna listen to eightball if you could just give me a link or something. thanks man and keep it up.

Oh i see, thats how i started too. isent it sick to say i started learning by myself... lol

Anyhow, I seriously think their is something wrong with the drums. Just the whole song doesn't fit together well. The snare seems like its always off [either early or late.]
Honestly i like the riff at the beginning, but the rest, i think has too much clutter man. The solo is nice. I can see you worked on it a lot, but the song itself...I don't know man.

I find some comfort in knowing that what I have created to this point is all me.......On the other hand, its dissapointing to know that the road I chose left me with sub par talent in many areas of my playing......I see 12 year olds who have been playing for two years who can play circles around me when it comes to soloing and clean skilled playing....

I do like to think that I have a knack for a great groove......That to me, is the most important thing to a song. It must have a hook and a groove.....

Well, there may be a future in songwriting and structuring for myself. Some of the stuff Ive written in guitar pro is way beyond my physical limitations, but if someone could play the stuff I think it would make it big.

I can post some of my guitar pro songs in midi format if anyone would like to take a stab at recording and performing one of my compositions. I can post them in guitar pro format too so you can read the tab also.

thanks
josh

Ya, dude right on. I dont play guitar, but it would be sick to see what stuff you have written. Can you get them to note format? like on a music sheet?
