I see what you mean - I'd never listened to a myspace page with my engineers cap on

Hey all, I have a song that I need to be reviewed.... however, Im not so sure how to turn the song into an mp3, it's in wav form right now ( can I get some info on how to do that? I use Pro tools 7.4. ) and it doesn't seem to have to volume that it should. Also before I post it should I try to bring up the volume on it? Well Hell.... Im not sure how to do that either but I will try if need be. Thanks for all your help. Sorry for being such an idiot.

Keytone, As far as I know most mixing tools (for example Cubase) or something like Wavelab have an mp3 encoder build in. To use this, go to Export and Mixdown or something like Save As (depends on your program) en look for the mp3 extention. I'd go for the 196 kbs or even 256 kbs, stereo and a sample rate of 44.1 or 48.0. The encoded MP3 is easily posted on this forum using the Attachments screen. If your program doesn't have a function like this try downloading a MP3 encoder, should be easy to find. Bringing up the volume could be as easy as using the normalize function in your editor. If not (if you have large volume peaks in your wavefile) you enter a whole different ballgame which is part of the mastering process (using a limiter but you''ll get to that some other time). If normalizing doesn't produce the right volume, don't bother and just put in on the forum. We'll just have to crank up our speakers, but for you we just might do that ![]() Good luck and looking forward to your post. Chris Last edited by Iemand33; 10-17-2008 at 03:05 AM. |

Greetings all, from Pounamu, I will not list the gear I have or have not got it is surprising what you can do with a tin can! I get into whatever sound I have in my soul at the time, am an avid composer and worry too much over poise and intent with my music. I find the 2000's an exciting time for me with the availability of sound changing gear. In saying that, for me there is no substitute for a great sounding guitar.
