hey guys,
my name is michael, i am 19 years old and i come from germany. i would like to introduce you 2 songs which i have made by my own. the first one is called ''The End Of The World'' (hard rock style) and the second is called ''Kommen Und Gehen'' (english: Coming and Leaving - Jazz, Chill out style). you can hear the songs if you click on this link here: MyOwnMusic.de - Artistseite von MEW it would also be great if you could post your comment here to know what can be improved. i am looking forward to your answers. p.s.: if you don't know where to find the songs because my artist homepage is full of german, then i can help you. if you scroll down, you will see a word called discographie. below this word you can find my 2 songs. then you just have to click on one and a new window will pop up. in this new window you need to click on lo- or hi- preview, however you want. after that you should be able to hear the song. best wishes michael (mew) Last edited by MEW : 07-22-2008 at 01:30 PM. |

the second one is great. keep that up for sure. i'm not too into the heavier stuff like the first track but their is something weird about it. it maybe be needing a boost in the highs. i'm not that great at picking out stuff like that but i agree about turning the treble up in my car on it.

Michael, I really like the second tune. You're a sensitive and obviously talented musician and it is reflected in the intimacy of your playing. It is also a nice recording. When listening I thought how great it would be to hear a fretless bass in the mix. I'm sure you would excel at it. Melody and harmonic depth may not be as glamorous as in your face walls of distorted speed guitar, but over time I think you might find it much more satisfying.
All that blazing lead guitar work in the rock piece would have stood out much better if the underlying 16th note drum/bass/guitar passages were more distinct and precise. Keep up the good work!

Dude,
Sounds great. While the hard rock is a little harder than I'm used to, you have great talent and ability! As with anyone who does their own mixing, you just have to do your best. Sometimes it helps to record and then let it be for a while, come back to it with a fresh set of ears. The acoustic tune, very melodic and soothing. Decent mix. If you are trying for the perfect mix, hire a professional. That's why they make the big bucks! Jesse
