Default This is definitely something you won't hear often...

I'm recording a few demos for a friend. I played nothing on this, so if you comment on the performance, I'll send it my friends way. This is an original song which is kind of a funky/jazzy thing with some "spitting" over it. Enjoy.

I dig it. My band mate will definitely dig it. Is there a name for the group? What'd you mic the vocals with?

Nah, just a solo artist. Oktava 319 on the vocals. Thanks for the input.

Thats great I love it. Just one section where the high sustained guitar distracted me a bit but apart from that I think a winner, Have played it about 6 times the production sounds professional and reminds me a bit of The Roots, Tippin Point album (must play that again soon)

Thanks for brightening up my morning.

Love the attitude in the vocals. Sounds great.

Down side for me would be the drums. Did you play with rods or something? They seem to lack the punch that sticks would provide.

Not my style of music at all but this is well done. I do love the instrumental elements of this even though I can't appriciate the vocals (no offence, the sound quality is good).

Yes, the drummer used rods, but we were looking for the slightly laid-back idea.

I appreciate the kind words. I'm still looking to have my balls broken. I actually threw some mics up and got lucky on this one.

I must assume the 0:15 intro is exactly what they wanted, cuz it sounds way out of place to me. If they were going for shock value, I would have made it shorter, and stuck it in the middle somewhere. Then, it would have been clearly out of context. As an intro however, there is no context, so it is just a little weird.
Oh well, what do I know.
The recording/mix sounds awesome to me.

I told him to make it in a key, but he wouldn't listen (darn bassist)!
