Smile Copying Arch Enemy

Hey what's up everyone. This is just a preliminary mix of a band that I am trying to make sound like Arch Enemy, particularly the Doomsday Machine album.

I could say more, but really... bash away

thanks in advance

Hi Hova,
Good effort!

I wont comment any on the song itself as I dont think thats what your after, but in terms of making it sound like Arch Enemy its a good job - only thing is they usually dont have so much of a constant bass presence. They have a lot of bass, of course, but its not always on - theres is a little sharper.

I dont think in your mix its one particular instrument, its the clash at the lower end that gets a little messing, particularly around the middle of the song.

Other than that great stuff!

AM.

Great start but I agree with the low end. I would pull some of it out of the guitars and let the drums and bass do there job. Maybe pull out some 200-300K to clean up some mud on the overall mix?
