Default Chaz- Marriage of The Soul- no echo

Here it is guys- Thanks for the tip off on the echo,I re-edited the mix and it was easy. i think it makes a good demo. If I wanted to submit an album of demos I think I could at this point of just things I've done in Australia since August 27th of this year. That gives me some satisfaction after having all those moments where i said, I know this is fun but wHAT am I doing this for while my wife goes out and makes a living..But if I can get some marketing support it all would change. Anyway I am happy again, and maybe tHAT's the Crux of the matter...

Right on it man! Love the vocals even more now. The drums sound good but the shaker hit needs to accent the snare not the other way around. It keeps drawing my ear away from the vocals which are awesome IMHO. Great lyrics. Would it be good to bring up what sounds like a guitar pluk synth a little. I like the melody it's doing? Ofcourse this is my taste. What matters is yours.
It's good to be happy doing what you love and it shows! Are you selling any of this? I think this song needs to be published by somebody but they better have great pipes to do it any better than this.

Ah thanks man. the drums- now that other things shift, the drums come more into focus, and they are a drum sequence and cant be changed. Its all audio!!Thats why I dont find it defeatist to say, these are demos. But I think someone listening would hear how the song could be better at least. I could turn up the guitar, but then I'd have to re cuit those parts out- see I am mixing the song on Korg D3200 then I need to take out parts of the song that were too long so I am deleting them out. once these two parts I have been "cutting' out are done, its not possible to change the instruments.....Its still at a majical stage- if I lose this I lose the demo purpose- to have the majic, but thank you for the guitar increase suggestion. I'll be glad to recut these and others. I say I wont redo things but in the end I may still do it if it doesn't feel like drudgery like tomorrow!!

The thing that irks me is you keep saying you can't change things

I SHALL BASH YOUR DEMO!

Issue 1: I liked how the first demo was without the drums in the beginning. They're too much. You introduced enough instruments in the first to carry it. The most you could get away with tastefully is hand percussion on the two and four until the chorus kicks in (IMHO).

Issue 2: I think you could seat the vocals better. The music isn't loud enough for me. The piano should be fuller and the vocals should gently ride on top (key word gently).

Watch that distorted drum sample thing, it could get old fast.

I think you're a talented songwriter and you should invest in a cheap interface like the presonus inspire, hook your Korg up to it, program a click track and lay down the tracks individually so you have a tweakable whole set up. That way you can edit things how you'd like and have a great surface to mix on.

i really like the dry vocals.. they sound great. I do think they affected the balance of the mix a bit.. Its not far off.. in my experience, take a day or two away from it and revisit it one more time to balance the mix.. then it s a keeper

Back down the backing vocals for the chorus.

Guitar is wonderfully played...Bring it up in the mix.

Echo on lead vocal a bit distracting...tone it down volume wise.

Drums should gradually get busier as tune progresses to give more life.

Overall...This is one of your better tunes. Definite Todd R. feel! Keep it coming.
