Yep, needs a little space right there at the beginning to make the next part really have some oomph. Might want to listen back to your vocals. Tighten up the doubled parts a bit. Some are coming in late. The sounds are really good and it's a cool song.

Well yeah maybe you're right, but there's not much I can do with that.I'm not on a computer program, and its not MIDI so its kinda hard to add another bar at the start of the change. I think I've gone the limit with how much I can change a song and still like it. The last guy that told me stuff here- i actually followed his sdvice and took out a lot of the sounds I had used....Now its the 12th mix or so and I can't do anything else.I put this one up sort of so that guy could see the changes. I shouldn't care but I did anyway. But thanks for taking the time my friend. You should have been here in the beginning though, maybe i could have made this specific change. chaz

well, yeah maybe the doublings aren't perfect.I've fixed the darned things like 7 times. anyway if i work on this song anymore I'm gonna start hating it so I guess this is the final form. I appreciate your ideas anyway Vulcan. If I do the song totally over, I might change the beginning.....add some bars or make the drums less of a surprize, or have a little voice whispering 'Hear comes the chorus" just kidding, its late and I'm getting silly. Thank you bro. Charlie

Ah. Much better. Now when you add those instruments at 0:33 it has a big dramatic effect. And now I actually like the strings and brass at 1:45. The bass going to eighth notes is a cool effect, it increases the urgency of the song. What's happening at 2:00? There is a second vocal coming in that's either a delay or it's really off time. Sounds bad. Likewise at 2:44 the timing between vocal tracks is shaky. I guess that's the risk you run with the massive vocals you're doing here. Most of the time they're very cool though. And after the final note it sounds like there is a decaying echo on the vocal. I don't like it. Still a great song. Victor. |

I know how it is Chaz. If you over work a song it becomes, well, work. Work of the kind that gets old fast. Take some time away from the song and listen back to it with 'fresh' ears. You might get re-inspired by it and decide to mess around with it some more. Wasn't trying to bust yer nads any, by the way. I know what your capable of from some of your other postings here. Take it as if I am just holding you to your standards.

Its ok Mr. Spock, doubling is always hard...I can get them better. Maybe today, and I appreciate your close listen. I have 2 copies on my hard drive, 1 i started out with when the song was real fresh, and one that was freshly wORKED ON. If I miss the early days I still gotthem.

its a cool song i like it, here's a few things i thought whilst listening the piano is a little too bright on my speakers. the change between 034 and 036 sounds rushed you could double the length of that bit and it would sound more natural but only if the run had a different feel especially on the bass also where it kicks in at 036 it may just be me but it sounds like there's a musical note clash between the bass and piano using a different voicing of the same chord family would help here. i like the strings, the brassy synth sound again sounds rushed an somewhat undefined in melodic concept, i think to sum it up you have a good song and if you worked on the feel of a few things it would make a big difference, i find it helps me if i can wear a different hat for each instrument mix wise at first listen i thought the vocals were too quiet but i think its the brightness of the piano giving that impression |

You are very perceptive. some of those things I didn't want to fix. It has sucked so much of my energy. Is it just me? Or are these things difficult? I thank You though. I would like to think i could go back to the song in next few days. that ambivelent harmony thing is making me crazy.
