I really dug that! I could here something like that in some kind of cool stage show, like magic or cirque de celoa. Try possibly bringing some of the keys and synth work out front just a bit more...

sweet!

yea the mix is a bit rough but the song is sweet. the chord progression in the beginning really makes me wish i had thought of it. lol

I know you like the synths to be quiet but I do think they could be a little louder, maybe not in the intro but in the part that starts at 0:10. Also maybe the gain on the guitar amp should be turned down a little... it seems a little strong.

That's all I got... I think it's definitely worth the time to get it polished up, it's a sweet song

I also thought so! i made the same mistake as you...mixed with my headphones, i realised in my case whenever i mix with my headphones the strings always come out to loud on my speakers, but when i listen to the mix on the headphones i can bearly hear it!

hey heinrich!!! sup?? i think quad tracking is one possible answer. as for what i do with my recordings, i pu more mids and bass on one track and the other one has more highs. then i mix them and put on the left speaker. i just do the same process for the right. this method helped me a lot.

did you use an impulse on revalver?? just incase you want great impulses, check out brohymns impulses on guitarampmodeling.com. he's a good tone catcher. i hope this helps bro. nice song by the way. castlevania fan here.

Thanx will try it later today!
do you think i must use 2 different distortions for each guitar?

The guitar sound is okay, it sounds WAY better than the models I used to use from my Line 6 pod. I guess modelling has gotten way better since then.. or Line 6 Pod just sucks. It's probably both to be honest.

You could read up about guitar cab impulses at Guitar Amp Modeling • Index page, go to the impulse section... I think those will help it sound better. Some of the good impulses sound just like a real cab, because it is a real cab... it's hard to explain... but it's really clever how they make them. Basically, they take a cab, put a mic up to it, and send a sine wave sweep of all the frequencies through the cab, and record it with the mic, and the mic signal will show how the sine sweep was effected by the cab. Then they can save that to a .wav file, and you can load that file onto a dry guitar signal (like if you turn off the cab simulation in revolver) and it will sound like you were playing it through that cab/mic combo. The result is way better than most cab simulations. I really want to make an impulse of my cab, so I can see how it compares... but it's pretty tricky.

Also, using a multi-band compressor on the mix can help bring the guitars out more. Also, boosting the upper mids will bring them out more, from the 1-3.5k region. Those are the frequencies that our ears hear the most, so even with guitars at a lower volume, they will sound louder with those frequencies boosted. You just have to be careful not to boost too much or it will sound like it's stabbing your ears with a knife. lol.

its up to you. whichever you like. just make sure that one is thick and the other one is thin.

an impulse is a dormant sound wave. its a waveform that cant be played in an oridinary player but when mixed with an active moving wave, it kinda shares its wave qualities to your sound and in effect, enhances your guitar tone or whichever sound you want to impulsate. . go to guitarampmodeling.com and choose impulses forum. check the latest impulses of brohymn. it really kicks ass. it can be used with guitar rig. but i think its best with revalver. i recommend you use the kitty rack then open the impulse you've downloaded from GAM in the convolution. tweak till you get your sound. check out my previous threads concerning impulses.

Guitar Rig 2 vs Real, Expensive Recording Rig

i posted 2 demos here regarding impulses. check the "DEMO2". if you want you could also check the funky demo as well. i also used an impulse there using gr2. maybe it could help you get an idea of how impulses sound. hope this helps bro!!!!
