The song is missing a major low end. Your guitar and drums sound too far away as well.
But other than that, definitely crank up/ add bass. I would stick with this song and write more parts for it to make it longer. It sounds like a song that would be an intro to an album.

I can't say I care for the guitar tone, but there is nothing you can do in the mix to save it. That excessive gain sound is causing a fizz of sorts that is fighting the drums.

It's an interesting piece of noise you've got here. I like it.

The overall mix sounds viewed and dark. It's a bit quiet. I'd hit it with a limiter on the 2bus so the "kids" will like it.

i'm not to sure how to fix my guitar tone, i guess i can just try a different effect or eq? I used a zoom effects processor for the intro guitar efffect and distortion. when you say i need to put a limiter on bus 2(channel 2?) does that mean a compressor? sorry if thats a dumb question.

i really need to get a book on the basics of recording and put a lot of practice hours into getting use to how everything works and sounds.

thanks for taking the time to listen and comment guys.

In regard to the guitar tone, the capture is probably fine or at least good. Assuming that's the case, we need to improve the source to hear and dramatic improvement in guitar tone. Does that make sense?

When we need a deep voice for a song, we don't take a squeaky voice and "process" it, we just get a singer with a deep voice. Does that makes sense?
