Default Blues Copy - Don't Let Me Be Lonely Tonight

Blues arrangement of James Taylor's Don't Let Me Be Lonely Tonight done by my ex-band. This, has been posted here a long while back. I finally got around to a final mixdown after the band broke up. Let me know what you think. I hope it sounds good as I am wanting to let this baby go and move on.

Very smooth! Nice guitar work too... I can't really find too much to pick on, except perhaps the snare sounds a bit "loose" somehow - not timing-wise, but perhaps it could use a touch more attack & a little less sustain. The kick is just a tad boxy as well -perhaps a reduction in the 400hz area would be in order... Overall, I really enjoyed it - well done!

Thanks! I tend to agree with you on the snare and kick drums. Those are the two things that I have had the most trouble with. The drummer is no longer in town so I have so somehow work with what I captured. I had to use noise gates to minimize the bleed and that seems to be a liitle troublesome as well. There is a fine line in those adjustments. I'll try some changes on the snare's compression and see how that works. The kick was recorded poorly from the start and the drummer left not long after we did the recording but I can play with the eq a bit more. I wonder if I can sneak a software kick drum in there somehow? :-) Thanks for the recommendations.

Thanks! You aren't the only person who has mentioned Gary Moore in our sound. The guitars used were a 74 LP Custom for the fills and a G&L Comanche for the solo. The amp is a Genz-Benz Black Pearl 30 Class A 1x12 amp with a MI Audio Blue Boy Deluxe distortion box. Also an SM57 to mic the amp directly into a Presonus Firetube tube channel. Of course, touch has something to do with it too. :-)
