Default Blue Jay's Song

Hello,

I am new to this forum! I hope to get some advice about my solo album, but I'll post this for now.

I think the drums & bass need work somehow.. Please don't dwell too much on the clicks, or that I breathed into the microphone (it's intentional) thanks!

Welcome to the forum! A unique musical style. I'll avoid commenting on the vocal, since that's what you said you were trying to achieve. The percussion (drum?) is tuned, but not the the song's key; so it's rather dischordant to me. There's one point near the end where everything gets relatively loud. It all seems to fight with each other; I'd look at remixing that part. Best of luck with your album.

Thank you for the courteous advice! I hadn't even thought of the snare drum that way, but now I hear it..

Do you have a more specific description of this "fighting" section? Is one instrument too loud? Is there too much in any frequency range?

Thanks a lot,

jesse

Starts around 2:40 and goes to about 3:05. Since everything is about the same volume and in the same space, I can't differentiate what's what. Thus the term "fighting".

Wow, I really liked it. Very different. I know this might sound wierd but kind of reminded me of a cross between BECK & Scott Weiland/STP's slower stuff. I dug it. Keep this song in your back pocket & come back in a couple of months with a rework, I think you've got a winner!
