Re: Blinded By The Light
sounds a little bit sterile. The lead instruments have no dynamics, really. The MIDI solos sound... MIDI.
The hi-hat is also kinda fatiguing to me. When it stopped around 2:40, my ears felt a little bit relieved. You could probably automate it down when more instruments kick in.

Re: Blinded By The Light
Agree with previous post. Very MIDI. As a drummer, the drum pattern is a bit distracting. Hi-hat drops out in non-drummer places when snare/kick comes in. maybe a touch of verb on that sax to blur its MIDI-ness? That "bidiba-bidiba-bidiba" synth sounds great--spot on. Nice guitar sound/solo around 3:30.

Re: Blinded By The Light
Thanks for the response....well, some of us poor folks are still foolin' around with arrangers and such. We're finding new horizons, sample-wise though. I feel your pain, drummers....I feel the same hearing midi guitars!! But at least we don't have to deal with the drummer falling off the stool, not showing up for practice, bad attitudes, etc...not that all drummers are like that.

Re: Blinded By The Light
A bad attitude generally means a bad musician, drummer or not!

Curious: Why did you choose the sax for the melody? Why not use some of those sweet guitar tones?B-Va

Re: Blinded By The Light
Figured you might enjoy this, if you're not already familiar with it, given your tune choice.

LOL!....we are playing instrumentals now because our singer friend is living in Alabama caring for his mother, but I'm sure his lyrics for that line would be interesting!...

Re: Blinded By The Light
The hi-hat needs a little less reverb, to be pitched up slightly, and the level brought down so that it blends better in the mix. I like the guitar solo and sound.

Re: Blinded By The Light
I am sorry, I just don't like this. It sounds thin, and the midi is not a good representation of the actual instruments. I think it is over all well performed but... I think you need to find a new midi sampler or whatever you are using.

Hey...no need to be sorry...this is America. You have the right to like or dislike anything you please, and state your opinion! Our MIDI sampler, Dimension Pro is fine. The problem is probably between my chair and the computer....but, I'm learning.
