Default Bash my band's new song

I just finished mixing my band Lipona's newest song and I was wondering if you guys could shoot me some pointers and tell me what you think the song needs in terms of mixing. Here is the mix:

Well....The drums were way over the top crazy. The backround vocals were too distant the guitars were in the mudd a bit& The lead vocals were pitchey in some spots. The last guitar chord was awesome!

What frequencies should I cut to reduce the mud on the guitars and by background vocals being too distant, were you talking about the shouts or the harmonies? Is there too much reverb on the backing vox or are they too low in volume?

Cool tune.

To me, the drums sound like someone beating the quack out of a bunch of feather pillows ( thud, thwap ) and they are pretty loud in the mix. There is no crispness to them in my view.

The song has potential though.

Song is cool, but something went way wrong with the drum recording. I can't even really hear if their are cymbals in the song. Where does the tone of the kick drum end and the tone of the snare begin?

To me the vocal should be an easy fix. I don't really know how to explain it, but maybe try taking some high mid tone out of the voice. It needs to be heated up and softened... if that makes sense....

jamie.

I am not sure I like this at all. The vocalist sounds good. I keep hearing what sounds like out of time beats on the drums all the way through the song. The drums are way to busy. It would sound better if the drummer played at ½ the speed and in time. As far as the sound I have to agree... the drums do sound like I am hearing them through a mud puddle. The band is trying to play beyond their ability on this one. Timing is way bad... Maybe they could tighten it up and try again after more practice? W*A*R*M* is banned. it is not a good way to describe music. I use thick or meaty chewy is good sometimes.
