The "Bash this recording" forum is really cool. But there are many other places that an artist can attach a song on this web site. It would be really sweet if there was a way to listen to all of the songs that a member has posted. That way you could get a better picture of there musical style and have see how there recordings have changed and improved over time.

well i think you could do that by clicking on a members name and go to their public profile and then look at all the threads started by that member. then look for all their posts in "bash this recording". its easy. thats what i do when i want to learn how the better members improved. i hope this helps you bro.

You are right. I've been wanting something like this for about 2 years now. The goal has always been to have a fancy user profile. When I get caught up (happens about 4 times per year) I like to search for a script that does such a thing. I've tried out over a dozen scripts but I've been pleased with none of them.
There is one that I came across just recently that looked very promising but it wouldn't install on my test server and I've been swamped with other things. I'm probably gonna have to dump $10k into a massive mega mega mega script that does everything I want. That would definitely explode this site to a whole new level. The only problem is the last time I looked in the couch cushions I only found about $0.87! If only I had rich parents. I'd already have the world by the balls. Oh well. Brandon

Well while it would be cool to have that kind of feature on the sight it is understandable that it might not be feesable. Big money dumped into a sight usually has to be recovered. which might translate to a ton of advertising and stuff which I think would kind of kill the spirit of the whole sight. Just my opinion, but it's kind of cool to have a sight and forum like this without all the hype and corporate control of something like youtube. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. That being said, the profile thing would still be cool. maybe some member will become a rich and famous musician and will hook you up. you never know .

There is always a balance between ads and growth. I don't think ads in moderation are bad. Hell, I like Billboards on the interstate. They keep me from falling asleep. When I want nature, I'll go hiking!
With that said, I'm never gonna go overboard with RecordingReview. I would like it to go continue to grow and sell my Home Recording Book and various products I come up with but keep the spirit the same. Brandon
