Lightbulb Angela/"How the Light Gets In"

Original song entitled "Anthem" by L. Cohen, used by permission. Just a more contemporary arrangement. Nothing could replace the genius original.

I look forward to your "bashing comments", a great learning experience.

Thanks,
Ramsey

Like the song but what about the stereo field? It's in mono. It needs more bottom end and back off of the reverb. Let her vocals come up front.

Thanks Disk.......Your ear and comments are both correct. The basic track and vocals were cut simultaneously, using two keyboards, with strings and stuff added later. We plan to redo the tune for a master if it generates enough interest. I sincerely appreciate your accurate critique of the demo.

I would also like to hear a bit less reverb and a fatter sounding voice in the mix ( love the vocalist ) . I use a lot of midi myself and I like to hear someone else's use of it ....just nit-picking now but I have a problem with the hi hat sound ..just a bit too midi sounding , I think ....the hits need to have a bit more feel and could be quieter , I think .

I really enjoyed this track ..I think you've done a superb job on the arrangement .

Sorry for late reply (been out of town). Thanks roysboy for the comments and critique. I will address the vocal issues in the final mix, and thanks for the heads-up on the hi hat. Also, nice to hear you use similar recording techniques.
