Amazing 14 year old

Okay, this is not a perfect recording but....I just could not believe the voice on this 14 year old girl. She (and her dad) walked in to the small practice room we have in the Philippines. They asked if it was possible to record her (just a raw recording). Ofcourse we agreed to do this and this is the result. I was just to blown away by her voice and guitar playing. It's all recorded in one time with the guitar plugged in and a cheap Shure PG58.

This recording took all but 15 minutes, since they had to go home. They will be back with some of her own songs as well and for sure we'll be better prepared the next time. I just wanted to share this beautiful voice out here (I'm still blown away).

This is my band practice room in the Philippines. It's a hobby that gone out of control (sound familiar??). We just make enough money to pay for the rent of the small room. Having loads of fun with young and old talent is what matters. Soon we'll take it up to the next level (and bigger building)[

She has a beautiful soft tone to her voice, very good for 14 for sure. Just curious, is she philippino? I have this picture in my head of that girl that was on American Idol for some reason. The tiny little Philippino girl with the huge voice. Maluby was her name or something like that.

Not too tiny, but skinny for sure. She's half Pinoy, half American. If you click on that "JAMROOM" link, you'll get to a website. Under Bands you'll find a photo album with "New Talent". In all my shock I forgot to ask her name hehehe. However, I have her fathers phone number and we'll stay in touch.

This is amazing.......This girls voice melts me.........Im not usually a fan of this type of stuff, but she has some great talent.......And for 14, she is definitely well rounded. Cute too........In a none pedophile type of way.
This song is beautiful. Reminds me of "Like a Star" by Corrine Bailey Rae.....thats the only song I know from her. lol

She's definately very talented. Keep recording her so she can get comfortable in the studio. By the time she's 18 she'll have the confidence to record anything and deliver conviction on any song she's singing. I hear just a hint of inexperience in her performance....duh, she's 14!
I recorded some drums tracks to that song (Bubbly, by the way, not Breathe. Breathe is a different song.) awhile back. I'd be happy to share them with you if you want them....free of charge.

Yes, I would love to have that drum track. Play with it and see what I can come up with. You can also hear in her voice that she was nervous. It's the 1st time ever that she recorded her own voice and that was even in front of strangers (I would be nervous as well, even now!!). She and her dad can come by any time they want to record. She's got some of her own songs as well and I told them they are more then welcome to swing by at any time to give it a shot, which they would!!!! Told them that if we get one of her own songs recorded, we get some musicians involved and see what we can come up with (all together) and do some brain storming. I just want to challenge her and I think we managed to do that.

And also thanks for the correct title, I honestly couldn't figure out the title. To get back to your drumtrack again, I would love to have a copy of that (Midi or Audio) and show her what is all possible.

That's why I was so blown away. It very rare that you come across this type of voice at such an young age. One can only imagine what she will sound like with some professional coaching (in a none professional environment!!!). I have seen vocal coaches ruin voices as well and make them sound like everything else out there (commercial).

it's also, like you say, not my kind of music but I keep on playing it. The voice is getting to you, catches you or something.

Anyway, thanks for the reply. That's the reason why I posted this. Just wanted to share something that blew me away and confirm that it's not just me.
