Hello, I wonder if some of the more experienced members can help me. I have a Korg D1200. I want to bypass the internal preamps so I can use a good quality external preamp to drive my Neumann mic and not have the external preamp driving the internal preamp. Does anyone know how to do this? I read somewhere that if you have an S/PDIF digital interface on your external preamp, you can use it to bypass the internal preamp on your Korg. I don't know enough to make sense of this. Can someone explain or do you have any other suggestions? Thanks in advance for sharing your knowledge (in plain English)--it helps those of who don't know the jargon. Dadgad24 |

you could go digital in if u had a good convertor. Itried the FMR RNP into an unbalanced connection with trim all the way downand it DID produce a more focused sound--even though it went thru Korg electronics / convertors. Which is good news if you dont have a A/D convertor

mic to preamp in, out to mic input on the korg with the trim all the way off. Almost any pre amp is better than the one on your korg. The RNP is really an upgrade. It will make any mic sound better.
