Default Any chance on using tascam us-224 on Windows 7 64 bit?

Hi, I just changed my notebook and the new one has Windows 7 64 bit.
i tried installing the tascam us224 driver but the installer stops telling me I'm using the wrong windows version. So I tried to manually install the drivers: I took the .inf, .sys and dll files from another PC where I installed drivers and I tried to use them to install the device. It seems working at first but at the end it tells me that the driver is not signed and that Windows 7 can work only with signed drivers. Now I'm stuck. Is there any of you who managed to successfully install those kind of drivers on win 7 64 bit? How can I do that? Do I really have to change my tascam?
    Thanks a lot in advance!

When I got my Tascam US-1641, I spent a lot of time trying to get their driver to work properly on my Win 7 Computer (it did install, but had nasty latency I couldn't adjust out). So I downloaded the free ASIO4ALL driver, and it worked great!

I thought that the "driver not signed" warning could be ignored, and it would still do the install.

That's true. In my experience, a majority of product software is not signed. Just ignore it and install. You shouldn't install unsigned software if you don't know where it came from (but you can be pretty sure Tascam is not trying to put malware on your computer!).

How did you manage to install it? I keep getting errors.... You can use asio4all only after installing tascam drivers, correct?

At first it tells me that driver is not signed and that I can still install it but then it gives me an error

This is what I get at the end. And the tascam doesn't work at all

I see TASCAM US-224 with a description of "firmware download".
Is it possible that you didn't download the audio drivers, but a firmware update program ?

To the ASIO4ALL question, you can install it WITHOUT installing the Tascam Drivers. In fact, in my case, I uninstalled my Tascam driver then installed the ASIO4ALL.

Also, JayGee seems correct...looks like you downloaded a firmware update. Totally different from the software driver Tascam needs to operate with your DAW.

I installed us-224 on win 7 x64 the following way:
click on driver 3.4 - said can't install this version.
Nevertheless drivers are in folder specified before (C:\programs\us224)
connect us224 - will not install
open device manager - find unknown device - rightclick - choose update driver
browse my computer - have disk - C:\programs\us224
and it installed flawlessly asking only for privileges since the driver runs on high priority.
