Default Future Looking Bright - Worship/Pop/Acoustic

I tracked this in 3 days with my friend and his acoustic guitar in a basement. He had wrote it the day before and I produced it the best I could with the limited time we had. He played a Taylor which I miked body & 12th fret A/B with two different condenser mics, time delayed 40ms, panned 50-50. I really liked how this sounded, but would love some input to possibly more effective techniques to get a single acoustic guitar to fill up a mix.

The intro to the song is 3 tracks:
1 - A volume swell on the sustain of each chord into a boss delay pedal.
2 - His drop-tuned E-string detuned 2 octaves in post production, compressed with a ton of reverb
3 - The dry acoustic track backmasked. I'm rather proud of how it turned out!

There are a ton of vocal tracks on this one. The melody is doubled all the way through, and tripled for the 2nd verse. We did 3 & 5-part harmonies also, with some doubled in the verses. I think we used 3 or 4 tracks for different repeats, too.

Bash me!!

I'm just a newbie at recording, but in my humble opinion I love the song. Really really cool beginning, stunning vocal ideas and harmonies, really like when the vocals go up at 3:24, but not so much the one at 3:50, it sounds a bit off to me, I could be wrong.

Thank-you newbie! Yeah I do believe the but on the bridge is the slightest bit flat, but it was the best take we could get and autotune didn't like how he slid up on that note... autotune hates sliding into notes.. it can't stand it!

How long have you been into home recording newbie?

I'm still in the process of organizing my home setup, only done some demos in other people's home studios - this forum is such a great tool, so glad I found it. Hopefully one of these days the products of my own recordings will sound a fraction as good as yours!
