I always find that even minor critiocisms in Bash this feel harsh (cause they're written down - I think), so first off, I like it.

BUT (has to be a couple).
I HATED the way the guitar comes in across 12 to 15 seconds and again onm 29 to 32.
The pan move is distracting. Better to sit the guiatrs some place in the spread and keep them there. Panning across can work, but on such a sparse arrangment, I think it fails.

And at 51 seconds the doubling of guitars is harsh, the second comes in way too loud - or the first hasn't risen loud enough. Needs smoothing.

Overall, I think you could give the track more tonal change by introducing a strummed backing guitar at around 2.18. It would give the song some build and you could always pull it back as you approach the end. Without something like that, it's very "one-level" and samey throughout.

But all that said, love the music, and you got very good guitar tone. One thought I would have is some more ambience of some kind (VERY VERY gentle reverb or delay) on the guitars to give the mix some presence.

And that's my 2 pennorth. Which probably ain't worth a penny.

NICE WOKR

shakman,
I really appreciate each thing you said and thought about each of those things as i was trying to put it together. you go back and forth listening to the song like 20 times then you try it. I agree on every point u made. I just picked an easy song that had about 5 different parts to try my hand in mixing them together, took quit longer than i had expected. the first section had 5 guitars that i tried and tried to get them to sound "together" it came close. This was with DI, im still waiting on my mikes to arrive any day now. again, i appreciate the time u took to give me your honest bash, i have no one else to play to to tell me otherwise. thats the kind of critique i need to get better and balls to put more up there. thanks

Tim

Nice tune, needs some words.
Occasional issues with the performance (1:19 for eg) You were probably too tense. Loosen up man...
Sounds a bit harsh, due to DI(?)
0:45 gap not clean.
Restart odd and one-sided
Could do with some gentle compression on the lead to keep it consistent level.
Possibly melody line could be (slightly) lower level generally.
It all sounds a bit dry. Maybe you could use effects and EQ to make it sound like different guitars.

Good effort. like I said nice tune.

Love,

Tigs
