    Hi there,

    I won't write a book but I think this is a really interesting simple thing to test.

    We all know that singers are selfish and that they want to hear themselves at least 10dBs more than the rest of the mix while recording.

    I recorded 6 different singers until now, so I've not a lot of experience. But funnily, they all worked the same even if their skills were not equal.

  2. How to mix for a contest?

    Hi there,

    This question came to my mind after having received around as much good than bad criticism in the contest I participated (I’m not at all complaining about that).

    I will not discuss techniques here, I will just touch the “psychological” aspect of producing a mix for a contest.

    The obvious answer would be: do a killer mix! But that’s not enough, and I would like to share the trap I felt into so that you can avoid them as much as possible.
